GoDaddy Renewal Coupons: Do They Really Work?

GoDaddy Renewal Coupons are something most people search on the internet. However, most of the GoDaddy Renewal Promo Codes available on the internet do not work.

So, the question is: Are there any genuine GoDaddy Renewal Coupons that work?

The answer is No!!!

GoDaddy does not provide any renewal coupons that are available for everyone to use. However, they do provide Renewal Offers to individuals on a case-to-case basis and as confirmed by GoDaddy in this article (Affiliate Link), all the coupons posted by other bloggers are fake/expired/non-working.

Now, before you hit the back button and try your luck to see if you can find any working GoDaddy Renewal Code; let me tell you, in this article, I will be providing you alternate solutions to renew your domain and hosting at a cheap price. GoDaddy Renewal Coupons Alternative

Below are some of the ways you can Renew GoDaddy Domain, GoDaddy Hosting, GoDaddy SSL and other GoDaddy products at a lower price.

Contact Customer Support For GoDaddy Renewal Promo Code

First things first, you must contact the GoDaddy Customer Support and ask them if they can provide any special GoDaddy Renewal Offers to you. If at all your account is eligible for such offers, they will pass on the benefit to you.

The discounts offered by GoDaddy may not be as low as you got for the first year, but it can still bring down your renewal costs.

If you are unable to get any discounts, you can consider the below options depending on what GoDaddy products you want to renew.

1. GoDaddy Domain Renewal Coupon Alternative

There are a couple of alternatives for you to renew your Domain Name depending on how many domains you have registered with GoDaddy

a. GoDaddy Domain Club Membership

If you are a domain flipper or if you manage multiple domain names for your clients, you can avail the GoDaddy Domain Club Membership.

The Domain Club Membership won't be suitable for you if you own a couple of domains. This is ideal for people who own more than 20 domain names.

As a member of the GoDaddy Domain Club, you can get heavy discounts on almost every domain extension available for registration at GoDaddy. A .com extension domain name will cost you just $8.29/month as against the original price of $14.99/month which is a discount of 44%.

The above price holds for the renewal of domains too. As such, this turns out to be one of the lowest Renewal Price for a .com Domain Name.

The Domain Club Membership will cost you $9.99 per month when paid for a full year. So, you've got to shell out $119.88 to get their membership for one year.

Why Choose GoDaddy Domain Club Membership?

As I said earlier, GoDaddy Domain Club Membership is not for everyone. The membership is intended to help domainers who buy domain names in bulk.

Below are some of the benefits that you get with GoDaddy Domain Club Membership

  • Discounted initial as well as renewal price for almost all domain extensions.
  • Free Premium Cash Parking.
  • Free Godaddy Auction Membership.

NOTE: You can use the below link to get 30% discount on all the new products. However, for me, the discounted price for GoDaddy Discount Domain Club was $103.49 and not 30% on actual price. It might be different for you.

b. Transfer Domain To Namecheap

I am sure, if you've been unsuccessfully searching for GoDaddy Domain Promo code for a while, this is one option you must have already explored. Transferring the domain name to Namecheap can save you some bucks upfront as Namecheap offers special pricing for Domain Transfers.

The pricing at which you can transfer the domain name to Namecheap varies very frequently. You can check their website for the latest pricing.

The above price also includes free WhoisGuard, not just for the first time, but for as long as you renew the domain name with Namecheap. GoDaddy charges an additional $7.99/year for domain privacy.

So, all put together, it does save you some bucks. Add to it, the renewal charges for a .com domain name at Namecheap is just $12.98/year which is cheaper than $14.99/year at GoDaddy (Not to forget Free WhoisGuard included in the renewal price)

Transferring the domain is easy and if you are hosting your DNS with CloudFlare, it should be a breeze without a single minute of downtime. (Even if you don't want to transfer your domain name, I still recommend using CloudFlare to secure your website)

Namecheap has awesome customer support. You can reach out to them, and they will give you step-by-step guidance on how to transfer your domain name to Namecheap.

P.S: Namecheap does run special offers for Domain Transfer at regular intervals which can further reduce your domain transfer costs. So, make sure to check out their website for any such offers.

Why Choose Namecheap For Domain Names?

Namecheap is one of the most popular domain registrars. Below are some of the reason why Namecheap is better than other domain registrars including GoDaddy

  • Low Domain Renewal prices
  • Free Whois privacy for as long as you renew the domain with them.
  • Premium DNS at just $4.88 for a year (As against $35.88 at GoDaddy)
  • Get Positive SSL for only $1.99 for the first year when you buy a domain name from Namecheap
  • Get access to awesome customer support.

2. GoDaddy Hosting Renewal Coupon Alternative (Shared Hosting)

Few people know, but GoDaddy is actually the largest hosting company in the world, leaving behind Bluehost that is heavily promoted by Affiliate Marketers and bloggers.

And the major reason for GoDaddy's popularity is their GoDaddy $1 Hosting offer that can get you hosting plus a domain name plus a business email for just $1/month or $12.18/year (Including $0.18 ICANN fee for the free domain name).

However, the renewals of the hosting plan at GoDaddy is very high at $7.99/month. That's where most people especially bloggers who are not making much money or who take up blogging as a hobby get stuck.

And I personally won't pay $7.99/month to GoDaddy especially since you can get better hosts at the same or even lower price point. And most of these hosts also provide free SSL certificates. So, the best way to get out of this situation is to switch your hosting company.

Nopes, don't get scared. You won't have to handle the transfer of your website. Several hosting companies offer free website transfer to their servers if you buy hosting from them.

Below are some of the hosting companies that offer free migration and have a good overall reputation.

a. A2 Hosting

A2 Hosting provides one of the fastest servers in the Web Hosting Industry. It is one of the few hosting companies that is not owned by EIG or GoDaddy.

The basic plan at A2 Hosting starts at $3.92/month for triennial billing. For annual billing, the price is $4.41/month. The price includes free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate and free migration of your GoDaddy website to their servers.

Again, like GoDaddy, their plan renews at $7.99/month. However, as compared to GoDaddy A2 Hosting is a much better hosting company, both in terms of server quality and customer support.

I've used their Turbo Plan for testing purpose, and I must say it was one of the quickest shared hosting servers I've ever used. Though I haven't tried their basic plan, several reviews do indicate that their basic plan too provides very quick page load times.

Pros of A2 Hosting

  • Highly Optimized servers for fast page load times
  • Server level caching available with higher plans
  • Positive reviews from most customers
  • Quality customer support you can rely on.

Cons of A2 Hosting

  • Renewal price is higher than GoDaddy
  • Domain Name is not included in the price.

b. FastComet

FastComet is among the lesser known web hosting companies that have been consistently rated very high by their clients. They claim to transfer your website to their servers in less than an hour.

The basic plan at FastComet called the StartSmart plan will cost you $2.95/month for triennial billing. For annual billing, the pricing is $4.95/month.

The best thing about FastComet is that it does not hike the price during renewals. So you can renew the server at $4.95/month. Of course, during offer periods, they do run special discounts, and in such cases, the renewal price will still be $4.95/month.

Each plan at FastComet includes a Free Domain for life. So, you do not have to shell out anything extra for domain name till the time you host with FastComet. This is unlike GoDaddy and several other hosting companies who offer free domain just for the first year.

You also get a free SSL certificate included in the above pricing. So overall, FastComet does turn out to be very cheap.

As for the server location, they have multiple servers in the US, Europe as well as Asia. The US data centers include Newark, Chicago, and Dallas.

In Europe, they have data centers in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London, while in Asia, their servers are located in Singapore and Tokyo.

Pros of Fastcomet

  • Cheap initial as well as renewal price
  • Positive feedback from most customers
  • More RAM with each plan
  • Several data centers across the globe

Cons of Fastcomet

  • Strict restrictions on server resources
  • Lesser know hosting company.

3. GoDaddy Managed WordPress Renewal Coupon Alternative

Honestly, there aren't any options for Managed WordPress Hosting that are as cheap as GoDaddy. So, you can consider switching to a Linux hosting, either A2 Hosting or FastComet.

Alternately, if you do not mind paying extra for a better Managed WordPress Host, you can consider Inmotion Hosting.

a. Inmotion Hosting

Inmotion is one of the most popular hosting. They have recently launched their Managed WordPress Hosting plans which are not as cheap as GoDaddy but do not restrict the traffic to 25,000 visitors/month.

At Inmotion, the restriction is rather on the Server Resources including the RAM. So if you have light website or blog that gets a lot of page views, you may be able to get more than 25,000 Unique visitors per month by using proper caching (Provided by Inmotion) along with CloudFlare CDN.

The basic plan at Inmotion starts at $8.29/month for annual billing. However, Inmotion is offering a special discount for BloggerzArena readers which can get you the WP-1000S plan for just $6.99/month.

The price is further reduced to just $4.99/month if you pay for three years in advance. The price also includes one free domain name.

The basic plan at Inmotion hosting renews at $9.99/month, which is slightly on the higher side as compared to GoDaddy. However, it is definitely worth spending extra as you get better customer support and much faster hosting.

Pros Of Inmotion Hosting

  • Very quick page load times
  • Fast SSD based servers
  • Support via phone, Skype, chat as well as tickets

Cons Of Inmotion Hosting

  • Servers only in the US
  • Poor Server uptime* (Please read below)

Note: I am using Inmotion Hosting's WP-2000S plan. The uptime for the server was very bad. However, Inmotion Hosting acknowledged the problem and said that the server I was on had some issues. So the problem was one off.

Eventually, they did rectify the problem and at the time of writing this article, the Uptime for the last 30 days was 99.94% which is decent.

4. GoDaddy VPS Renewal Promo Code Alternative

Unlike the Shared Hosting and Managed WordPress Hosting, the VPS at GoDaddy is not at all cheap, neither when you consider the initial buying price nor when you consider the renewal price.

So, if you are using GoDaddy VPS, you can consider using the below VPS and Cloud VPS Options that are way cheaper than GoDaddy.

a. Cloudways

Cloudways is not exactly a web hosting company. Rather, Cloudways procures the servers from popular Cloud VPS companies like Digital Ocean, Vultr, Linode, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform and manages the same for you.

Two of my primary blogs, Blogging Ocean and Freelance Biz are hosted on Digital Ocean servers via Cloudways. I have been with Cloudways for more than 10 months, and so far I am very much satisfied with their services.

At Cloudways, you have the option to select a server from any of the Cloud VPS companies mentioned above. The pricing at Cloudways includes the price of the server.

The basic plan at Cloudways starts at $10/month for a Digital Ocean server that comes with 1 GB RAM. For Vultr and Linode, the pricing is $11/month and $12/month respectively for a 1 GB RAM server.

If you are looking for the 2GB RAM plan as available with GoDaddy, you can get the same with Digital Ocean servers for just $22/month which is much cheaper than GoDaddy.

Offsite backups are charges at just $0.033 per GB of backup storage and are billed in the multiples of $0.5. Interestingly, you cannot turn off these backups, and so, you have to pay a minimum of $0.5 extra for server backups each month.

Unlike GoDaddy, Cloudways does provide a cPanel and uses a control panel of their own which has limited but all the necessary functionality. You can install several applications including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, WooCommerce, Magento, Laravel, etc.

You also get a one-click installer for free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate. There's also an option to install your own SSL certificate right from their control panel.

As for their support, it is often considered one of the best in Industry. In fact, their support is one of the reasons Cloudways is so popular among developers and bloggers.

Pros of Cloudways

  • Very cheap pricing as compared to  GoDaddy Managed VPS
  • Option to choose servers from popular Cloud VPS
  • Since servers are procured from popular Cloud VPS companies, you can get data centers almost in every region
  • Free Let's Encrypt SSL with one-click install feature
  • Awesome customer support

Cons of Cloudways

  • No File Manager in the Control Panel. So you have to rely on SFTP for file transfers.
  • No Email Hosting on the server.
  • Control Panel is not as feature rich as cPanel
  • No root access

b. A2 Hosting (Unmanaged VPS)

If you are looking for an Unmanaged VPS with an easy to manage option, A2 Hosting should be an ideal choice for you. They are cheap, and they offer free Webuzo Control panel which is from the makers of Softaculous.

With A2 Hosting Unmanaged VPS and Webuzo control panel, you get all the functions of a cPanel including Domain Management, One-Click SSL installation, and management, File Manager, etc. among other features.

You also get the free Softaculous installer. So you can easily install WordPress and other popular applications that you usually get with Shared Hosting.

The basic plan VPS plan at A2 Hosting starts at just $5/month and can get you 512 MB RAM server and 20 GB disk space. You can increase the RAM to up to 4 GB with every additional 512MB RAM costing you $4/month.

So, a 2 GB RAM server with 20 GB SSD should cost you $17/month. You can also increase the disk space at $1/10 GB/month

Although I don't see a reason for you to get a cPanel, however, if you wish you can get the same at $19.95/month without Softaculous installer and $22.95/month with Softaculous Installer.

Pros Of A2 Hosting VPS

  • Very cheap as compared to GoDaddy Unmanaged VPS
  • Monthly billing available
  • Free Webuzo Control Panel with Softaculous Installer
  • Data Centers in the US, Europe as well as Asia.
  • Good customer support

Cons of A2 Hosting

  • A costly option if you prefer cPanel over Webuzo.
  • Maximum of 4GB RAM VPS

5. GoDaddy SSL Renewal Coupon Alternative

Unlike domain name and hosting, you do not have to worry about renewing the SSL certificate. You can always buy it from a different company every time.

So here again, the best option for you will be to buy SSL from Namecheap as it provides a Comodo Positive SSL certificate for just $8.88 per year with the same renewal cost as against $74.99/year at GoDaddy.

If you are running an E-commerce store and looking for EV SSL, you can get the same at Namecheap for $78.88/year with the renewal price of $145/year. The same is available with GoDaddy at $149.99/year  (Annual Billing) with the renewal price of $199.99/year.

Why Choose Namecheap for SSL Certificate?

  • Very cheap pricing for new SSL as well as the renewal of SSL certificate
  • Several types of SSL's available from reputed CAs
  • Awesome customer support that can guide you step-by-step as you install SSL certificate

Final Words

Genuine GoDaddy Renewal Promo Code is only available to individuals on a case to case basis. There is no universal GoDaddy Renewal Coupon code.

However, since the renewal price for domain names, Hosting as well as SSL is very high at GoDaddy, it only makes sense to consider alternate options.

In this article, I have listed the best alternatives to GoDaddy for Domain Name, Shared Hosting, Managed WordPress Hosting, VPS Hosting as well as SSL. Of course, you can consider these options only if you do not get any GoDaddy Renewal Coupon code from the customer support.
